Data, database and ransomware recovery for US organizations
AS recovers data from failed databases, ransomware-encrypted servers, RAID and NAS arrays and virtual machines for customers in the United States. Most engagements begin with a remote assessment, and physical media can be shipped to our lab in Dharmapuri, India.
How a job works from United States
Remote first
Many problems can be assessed and often worked on remotely: databases that will not start, ransomware-encrypted servers, virtual machines, and RAID or NAS configurations. Remote services are provided internationally.
Media shipped to our lab
Drives and other media that are not detected, or that need physical work, are sent to our lab in Dharmapuri, Tamil Nadu, India. We explain the packing and shipping steps before you send anything.
On-site where feasible
On-site assistance is available where feasible. Whether it is practical depends on your location and the case, and we say so plainly.
Recovery outcomes depend on the condition of the data and are never guaranteed. We tell you what looks realistic after an initial assessment.
Working hours and time zones
Standard hours: Mon–Fri, 9:00–18:00 IST
Our standard hours are Monday to Friday, 9:00–18:00 IST (03:30–12:30 UTC). In US Eastern time that is about 11:30 pm to 8:30 am during daylight saving time (10:30 pm to 7:30 am in winter), and in Pacific time about 8:30 pm to 5:30 am (7:30 pm to 4:30 am in winter). In practice our Monday begins on Sunday night in the US, and a call before about 8:30 am Eastern falls inside our working day. Emergency requests are answered 24/7: use the emergency request form and tell us your time zone.
Privacy and compliance in United States
There is no single US privacy law covering all data. Depending on your sector and state, rules such as HIPAA for health information, state consumer-privacy laws such as California's CCPA, and state breach-notification laws may apply to data handled during a recovery. This is general information, not legal advice. Tell us about any compliance requirements when you inquire, before any data or media is sent.
What we recover
Frequently asked questions
Can you recover our data without shipping drives to India?
Often the first step is remote. Problems such as a database that will not start, a ransomware-encrypted server or a broken virtual machine can usually be assessed remotely. A drive that is not detected or that makes unusual noises generally has to be sent to our lab. We tell you which applies after an initial assessment.
What are your working hours in US time zones?

Do HIPAA or state privacy laws affect using an overseas provider?
They can affect how and where data is handled. We cannot give legal advice, so check your obligations with your own counsel or compliance officer, and tell us your requirements when you inquire. We will explain how the job would be handled before you send anything. See our security and privacy page for how we approach it.
