HYFLOCK began posting victims on 13 October 2026 and had listed 13 by 2 November (ransomware.live). Its victims are spread unusually widely: Turkey and the United States with two each, and India, Vietnam, Gabon and Ecuador with one. Public claims include Ocean Beverages in India, the Bangladeshi internet provider T Dot Net, the Turkish pharmaceutical distributor Merkez İlaç, Cooper Tec Solutions in Brazil and the Malaysian advisory firm YYC Advisors, from which the group claimed 300 GB of data. These are the group's own claims.

What is known and what is not

HYFLOCK runs a leak site with countdowns to publication, the usual double-extortion pattern. No technical analysis of its encryptor has been published yet, so its encryption method, file extension and way in are not publicly confirmed.

HYFLOCK ransomware data recovery: what we recover

No public decryptor exists for HYFLOCK, and none is likely while the group is active. Recovery without the key works from what an encryptor leaves behind: large files such as SQL Server and Oracle databases, VMware and Hyper-V virtual disks and Veeam backup files are often only partly encrypted, because encrypting every byte of a large file takes too long. We measure exactly which regions of each file were encrypted and rebuild the tables, virtual machines and files from the intact parts.

Keep the encrypted files and the ransom note, do not wipe or reinstall the servers, and do not run repair tools on the encrypted files. Contact us for a free assessment. We have solved many cases like this. No data, no charge.

Veeam backups, SQL Server or Oracle databases encrypted by HYFLOCK?

Ransomware groups go after the backup repository first. A .vbk or .vib file renamed by the ransomware is often not lost: large backup files are usually only partly encrypted, and the intact blocks can be verified and rebuilt into the virtual disks. The same holds for SQL Server MDF and BAK files and for Oracle datafiles and Data Pump exports: the rows the ransomware did not reach can be read directly. In real cases we rebuilt a 466 GB server disk from a 43 GB Akira-encrypted VBK, and recovered 98.8% of the rows from LockBit-encrypted SQL Server backups.
