Ransomware data recovery in Pune
AS recovers data for Pune's manufacturers and IT companies after ransomware: encrypted ERP and SQL Server databases, file servers, VMware virtual machines and Veeam backups. Work starts with a free remote assessment; files or media then come to our recovery lab in Dharmapuri, Tamil Nadu.

Ransomware in Pune: what gets hit
Pune's automotive and engineering industry in Chakan, Pimpri-Chinchwad and Ranjangaon, and its IT parks such as Hinjewadi and Kharadi, run ERP systems, SQL Server databases, file servers and virtualised infrastructure with Veeam or NAS backups. A ransomware attack on a plant's ERP stops production planning and dispatch; on an IT company it takes down the VMware hosts and the backups together.
How a case from Pune works
1. Remote assessment
Send us the ransom note and a few encrypted files. We identify the ransomware and measure how the files were encrypted — often within hours.
2. Files or media to our lab
Copies of the encrypted databases, virtual disks or backups — or the drives themselves — come to our lab in Dharmapuri. Originals are only ever read.
3. Recovery and validation
We recover what the encryption left intact and check it before handing it back, reporting plainly what could not be recovered.
Getting to our lab from Pune
Pune is about 1,000 km from our lab. Encrypted files are usually transferred, or drives sent by courier, arriving within one to two days. For an in-person handover, fly to Bengaluru; Dharmapuri is about three hours from there by road. Visits are by appointment.
Why encrypted does not always mean lost
To finish quickly, most modern ransomware encrypts only parts of large files — the start, or chunks at intervals. Databases, virtual disks and backup files therefore often keep most of their real content. Some of our measured cases:
We have solved 656+ ransomware and data recovery cases. Results depend on how each file was encrypted, and we tell you exactly what is recoverable after a free assessment, before you pay anything.
Reporting rules in India
CERT-In's April 2022 directions require organisations to report cyber incidents, including ransomware, to CERT-In within six hours of noticing them. If personal data is affected, the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 also requires the breach to be reported to the Data Protection Board and to the people affected. This is general information, not legal advice — check your obligations early, because the clock starts when the incident is noticed.

Prefer to assess it yourself first? AS Ransomware Analysis Studio identifies the ransomware and measures the encryption of your own files.
Frequently asked questions
Our ERP database and the backup NAS were both encrypted. Can anything be recovered?
Often, yes. Large database and backup files are frequently only partly encrypted. We measure exactly how each file was encrypted, free of charge, and tell you what is recoverable.
Do we need to send the servers?
Usually not. Copies of the encrypted files are enough in most cases; the servers stay with you.
Do you sign an NDA?
Yes, before any data is sent.
